summer is coming to an end and as florida's afternoon thunderstorms are in full force, our new home school curriculum has arrived in the mail.  john is about to wrap up a God-filled and busy season of travel.  we have had a great summer and are looking forward to what fall has in store as john has plans to travel to new ministry destinations.

these last couple of months have been filled with lots of fun for us.  nathaniel has learned to crawl and sit up and eat menus at restaurants.  cheney never ceases to surprise us with her witty banter and is quick to point out that she is the craziest member of our family.  elijah has officially outgrown big sissy in weight and height...but please don't tell her, she is none too thrilled about this.  layton enjoyed upward soccer and b-ball camps but really looks forward to starting ballet in the fall.

as I write this, i can understand why people give me funny looks at walmart with all 4 of my kiddos and they say "you sure have your hands full."

but i always respond..."and i'm truly blessed, too!!!"

hot fun in the summertime!
while most people go on vacation during the summer, i really go to work! youth camps are a staple of student ministry and even though it does require me to be on the road for weeks at a time, i love the opportunity to basically live with students for an extended period.

highlights from camp- i flew out to cloudcroft, new mexico to speak at "lives ablaze" camp for the new mexico state baptist association. we had 86 campers and saw 13 students give their lives to Christ! 18 students rededicate themselves, and 5 students surrender to full-time ministry!

i served as a counselor trainer for the andrew palau beachfest event in myrtle beach, s.c. about 20,000 people came out to see toby mac and mercy me, and 518 souls made decisions for Christ!

"tex" the rookie cowboy, was a huge hit at vacation bible school at first baptist church of saint cloud. i got to minister as the goofball that i am while also spending a week with two of my own kids. almost 300 children attended and about 30 accepted the Lord as their Savior!

florida baptist convention's super summer brought 264 students to leesburg where we saw 20 students step out of death and into life!

fort myers beach was a beautiful backdrop for God to work in the lives of 36 campers from lakeside baptist church of lakeland, florida. our final worship service that week was 3 hours and 45 minutes of Spirit-filled testimonies, music, and footwashing.

still to come- the florida baptist convention's annual youth evangelism conference, 2xs, at first baptist church of orlando. also "rush week" will have me leading the students from first united methodist church of winter park on a whitewater rafting trip to ducktown, tennessee.
